Who is Fit and Nix?

Paula Radcliffe, Great Southrun launch

Hi,

I’m Nikki, a Blogger, mummy, runner and PR for Believe and Achieve events Portsmouth (Portsmouth Coastal half and full marathon, Santa Run, RNLI 10, Ghost Race, Pieces of Eight) and a self-confessed fitness addict!

In March 2014 I was bullied into taking Part in Tough Mudder London South, and so in training for this over 12 mile obstacle event, I began running! After 7 months of training I became a fully-fledged Mudder and over a year later and I am still going strong, although I have stepped slightly away from obstacles in favour of road races (who would have thought it)

I started this blog to document my experiences in training, and to remind myself of the struggles I have faced to get to the point I am at now. After 1 Tough Mudder, 1 Brutal, countless 5 and 10K’s and two half-marathons, I am currently training for my next challenge, the marathon!!!

My most exciting news was recently taking part in the Great South Run official photo-call and meeting the legend that is Paula Radcliffe! Make sure you check out my post “The day I met Paula Radcliffe)

If you are a runner you will hopefully relate and find this blog both light-hearted and amusing. If you are thinking of becoming a runner I hope I can inspire you with my journey and show you that you really can do anything if you set your mind to it

It’s been one hell of a journey so far, so make sure you scroll back to my very first post “Get fit or die trying” to see where I started and where I am now 🙂

Don’t forget to follow my weekly running diaries as I tackle my running demons, through the highs and lows of Injury, to the triumphs of beating my PB’s!

  1. Hi Nikki, congrats on the awards nomination (we got one too) and on your fab blog (and running prowess). Just wondering if now it’s a bit chilly you might fancy trying out a pair of our eglove running gloves (snug, breathable and you can still use your mobile while you’re wearing them – see more at http://www.glove.co.uk). If you fancy mentioning us in passing on your blog in return, that would be amazing – or if you’d like to give a pair away (if you think they’re any good) as a competition we’d be very happy to provide. Drop me an email (erica@eglove.co.uk) if you’re interested – and best of luck with everything in the meantime. Thanks, Erica 🙂
